Gurabija (Butter-Nut Cookies)
Gurabija is a traditional cookie/biscuit that is the perfect side to a cup of coffee or tea. It’s a simple cookie packed with LOTS of flavor!
Ingredients:
1 Cup Unsalted Butter (2 Sticks), softened
1 Cup Walnuts, finely chopped
3 Tablespoons Powdered Sugar
1 Tablespoon Vanilla
2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
Small Bowl of Powdered Sugar to dip cookie
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 320 Degrees Fahrenheit. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a standing mixer, whip the butter, powdered sugar and vanilla on high speed for about 5 minutes.
Add in the flour and walnuts. Mix on low for about 2 minutes.
With a large tablespoon to ensure all of the cookies are the same size, scoop up the batter and roll into balls and place on baking sheet
Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes.
Let them cool for about ten minutes. Roll in the powdered sugar while a bit warm. These can last stored in an air-tight container for up to 3 weeks. Enjoy!
